Saksun – út á Lónna

This is a lovely and easy hike to a black sand beach near Saksun on Streymoy island. It takes around 1,5 hours. You hike along the gravel road into the fjord and along the fjord to the black sand beach by the ocean. Do watch the tides though, it’s not possible to reach the beach during high tide.

Difficulty: easy, but pretty difficult if you get the tides wrong:-)
Length and duration: around 6 km in total. It’s 3 km one way to the beach.
Costs: DKK 75 pp
Starting point and parking: There is a parking lot on your left once you enter the small town of Saksun. Parking is free. From the parking lot you will walk westwards to the fjord.
