4 days in the Dolomiti di Brenta

Start and end point: Madonna di Campiglio
Day 1: Take the Grostè cable car system from Madonna di Campiglio up to Rifugio Stoppani. Hike down to Rifugio Graffer a Grostè and on to Rifugio Casinei (1825 m) – 6,6 km, 3:00, ↑ 150 m, ↓ 770 m. Level: T2
Day 2: Hike from Rifugio Casinei to Rifugio Alimonta – 2405 m) – 5,8 km, around 4 hours, ↑ 800 m, ↓ 50 m. Level T2/T3.
From Rifugio Casinei, you’ll follow trail 318 (often called ‘Sentiero Bogani’). This path ascends diagonally above the tree line, reaching a fork at the “bivio Valle del Fridolin” (around 2,043 m). The route here is a mix of gentle sections and steeper, more rugged sections. At some parts the path is hewn into the rock, crossed by footbridges, and even passing through a couple of short tunnels. The trail brings you to a scenic panoramic platform on the right side of Val Brenta Alta, where . Here, you’ll see Rifugio ai Brentei.
From Rifugio ai Brentei you continue along trail 323 toward Rifugio Alimonta. This part of the hike becomes noticeably steeper. The route eventually leads you into the Conca degli Sfulmini—a narrow, rocky amphitheater that frames the Brenta Dolomites’ needle-like formations. Rifugio Alimonta itself is perched on a narrow ledge, offering 360‑degree panoramic views.
Day 3: Hike from Rifugio Alimonta To Rifugio Fox Tuckett (6 km, 4 hours, ↑ 300 m, ↓ 600 m), to Rifugio Stoppani (10 km, 5,5 hours ↑ 550 m, ↓ 680 m) or Rifugio Graffer al Grostè (10,3 km, 5,5 hours, ↑ 500 m, ↓ 830 m.
From Rifugio Alimonta, hike back down to Rifugio ai Brentei. As you descend, you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the Brenta Dolomites. The trail offers dramatic vistas of sheer rock faces and spire-like formations, with expansive alpine meadows and a clear view of peaks such as Torre di Brenta and Cima Tosa in the distance. Hike on to Rifugio Fox Tuckett, Rifugio Stoppani or Rifugio Graffer al Grostè.
Day 4: Hike from one of the three rifugios back to Madonna di Campiglio, or take the cable cart back. From Rifugio Graffer al Grostè: 7 km, 2,5 hours, ↑ 80 m, ↓ 850 m
From Rifugio Stoppani: 8,6 km, 3 hours, ↑ 80 m, ↓ 1020 m
From Rifugio Fox Tuckett: 11,4 km, 5 hours, ↑ 300 m, ↓ 1070 m
